The Taliban’s security command in Badakhshan has confirmed that an explosion occurred this morning in Faizabad, the provincial capital.
The Taliban said on Wednesday, October 7, that two civilians were injured in the explosion.
Earlier, sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily that a vehicle carrying the Taliban’s chief judge in Badakhshan had been targeted in the explosion.
The sources added that the explosion was caused by a mine.
Taliban officials in Badakhshan have also been targeted in attacks in the past.
