Local sources in Badakhshan say a former security officer in the province has been beheaded by unknown individuals.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, December 20, that the former officer, identified as Naser, had gone missing a week earlier from Fayzabad, the provincial capital of Badakhshan.
According to the sources, his decapitated body was later found in the Yaftal district.
The sources added that Naser had served in the previous government within the police headquarters of Takhar and Badakhshan provinces.
Based on information provided by the sources, the former officer had been working as a taxi driver after the Taliban regained power.
The sources noted that his vehicle was hired privately and that he was subsequently beheaded in an area known as “Rada-e Wekha.”
The sources did not specify who or which group was responsible for the killing.
In October, the Taliban in Badakhshan killed another former security officer, Abdul Rashid, after subjecting him to torture.
According to Hasht-e Subh Daily findings, from 2023 through mid-2025, the Taliban have killed approximately 110 former security personnel.
