The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that four family health centers have recently been constructed in remote areas of Khost province.
The organization said in a report on Wednesday, October 7, that it has constructed 57 family health centers in seven provinces of Afghanistan since 2023.
According to the organization, these centers have been constructed in various parts of Afghanistan with funding from the Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (STFA) and joint financing from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The International Organization for Migration added that the centers provide essential health services to residents who previously had to travel long distances to access healthcare services.
In cooperation with United Nations agencies, these centers help provide maternal and newborn health services and primary healthcare.
