Taliban Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi met with Yue Xiaoyong, China’s special envoy for Afghanistan, on the sidelines of the eighth “Moscow Format” meeting.
The Taliban’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday, October 7, that the two sides discussed bilateral relations between the Taliban and China, the regional situation and the expansion of mutual cooperation.
Yue Xiaoyong described relations between the Taliban and China as positive and shared China’s views on the regional situation with the Taliban.
He also emphasized the importance of joint efforts to ensure regional stability, strengthen mutual cooperation and develop Afghanistan’s economic and regional connectivity.
