The World Food Programme (WFP) in Afghanistan has reported that hundreds of families have been affected following floods in the eastern part of the country.
On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, WFP announced that its teams are present in the flood-affected areas and are assessing the situation to deliver emergency food assistance to those impacted.
Although the exact extent of the damages and human casualties caused by the floods in Afghanistan’s eastern provinces has not been determined, Taliban officials have reported the destruction of homes and agricultural lands, as well as the deaths of several individuals.
Taliban officials stated two days ago that two children lost their lives due to floods in the Lalpur and Gushta districts of Nangarhar Province.
