The United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (UN STFA) has announced a new financial contribution from Iceland to the fund.
The fund said in a post on X on Tuesday, September 15, thanking Iceland for its contribution, that the funding will be used to expand communities’ access to essential services, strengthen livelihoods, and enhance their capacity to cope with challenges.
However, the fund did not provide details about the amount of Iceland’s contribution or how it will be spent.
The United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan works to support essential services, strengthen livelihoods, and increase the resilience of vulnerable communities. It also supports humanitarian and development programmes in Afghanistan.
