The United Nations Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (UN-STFA) has praised the resilience of the Afghan people.

On Saturday, October 24, marking the 81st anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, the fund said the organization’s strength lies in the achievements made for the people of Afghanistan through collective efforts.

Millions of people in Afghanistan continue to face serious challenges due to conflict, poverty, displacement, and climate crises.

United Nations Day is observed annually on October 24.

In 1947, the UN General Assembly designated the date as United Nations Day to promote awareness of the organization’s goals and achievements worldwide and to encourage greater public support for its work.
