Local sources in Ghazni say a man was killed by armed individuals in Qarabagh district of the province yesterday evening.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, August 12, that the incident took place in Shadi Khan village in Qarabagh district.
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s media office in Ghazni’s police command confirmed the incident, saying that one person had been arrested in connection with the killing and that an investigation was underway.
The incident comes as reports of increased killings and armed robberies in several provinces across the country have emerged in recent days.
At least five people, including a woman, have been killed in Kunar, Paktika and Badghis provinces over the past two days.
The Taliban have repeatedly said that they have ensured nationwide security. However, citizens complain about an increase in criminal incidents, insecurity and armed robberies.
