Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), has announced that the country’s humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan continues, with a new shipment of essential medicines and medical supplies arriving in Kabul.
Jaiswal said in a statement issued on Sunday, September 27, that the shipment had been sent to a government hospital in Kabul.
He added that the provision of medicines and medical equipment remains an important part of India’s humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
The assistance has continued as the need for healthcare services and medicines remains in various parts of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan’s healthcare system has also faced significant challenges in providing medical services since the Taliban returned to power, due to restrictions and reduced funding.
