Sources familiar with the negotiations aimed at ending the conflict between Iran and the United States say the purpose of the Iranian delegation’s visit to Doha was to discuss the Strait of Hormuz and Iran’s stockpile of enriched uranium.
Reuters reported on Tuesday, May 26, that Abdolnaser Hemmati also took part in the talks to discuss the possible release of Iran’s frozen assets as part of a final agreement.
Earlier, Esmaeil Baghaei said discussions on nuclear-related issues would only begin after agreement had been reached on the general framework of the negotiations.
Baghaei also stated that any potential agreement with Iran does not include specific details regarding the management of the Strait of Hormuz.
However, it remains unclear whether Washington and Tehran will reach a comprehensive agreement that would both end the conflict and resolve Iran’s nuclear file.
