Israel, which has occupied southern Lebanon, is seeking to establish a 90-kilometre network of roads and military bases across the region.
Al Jazeera reported on Sunday, November 8, that the plan has heightened concerns over the continuation of Israel’s military presence in southern Lebanon.
According to the report, satellite images show that Israel is constructing roads and military bases across southern Lebanon.
This comes as Israel and Lebanon have held several rounds of talks mediated by the United States to end the war with Hezbollah and secure the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.
However, Israeli officials have stressed that they will not withdraw from southern Lebanon as long as the threat posed by Hezbollah persists.
