Local sources say that a section of the Kabul-Kandahar highway that had been rehabilitated by the Taliban several months ago has been damaged again.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, August 22, that the section of the road is located in Daman district of Kandahar province and is now severely damaged.
According to the sources, the road had been handed over by the Taliban to a contracting company several months ago and was reopened to traffic after the work was completed.
Passengers traveling along the route say the road, which had recently been rebuilt, has once again returned to its previous condition, creating difficulties for commuters.
The sources add that this section of the highway needs to be rehabilitated again before it can be used properly.
The Taliban have rehabilitated several roads across the country in recent years. However, according to sources, some of these construction projects have been damaged again shortly after their completion.
