The Kurdish Human Rights Network has claimed that a Kurdish mother and daughter living in Afghanistan were killed by a local Taliban member in Sar-e Pol Province.
On Monday, June 8, the network reported the incident, citing informed sources, and identified the victims as “Chiman Hosseinzadeh” and “Sara Yousufi.”
According to the report, Chiman Hosseinzadeh married an Afghan man about 20 years ago and had been living in Ghuldori village, Kohistanat district of Sar-e Pol Province.
The Kurdish Human Rights Network alleged that the two were killed by a local Taliban official named “Mufti Mohammadullah,” who serves in the Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs in Kohistanat district.
The report stated that the official had reportedly sought to marry 15-year-old Sara, and after facing resistance from her mother, he shot and killed both of them.
It added that the mother and daughter were killed on 18 April.
Reports of a similar killing of a mother and daughter by local Taliban members in Sar-e Pol had previously circulated in the media about a month earlier.
