According to local sources in Jawzjan, a man in this province has died under the torture of a Taliban fighter.
The incident took place on Saturday, May 13, in the village of Shirmango, in the Darzab district of Jowzjan province.
Sources state that the victim, named Khal Mohammad, was killed after a verbal altercation with a Taliban member named Ahmad Rayis.
Reportedly, Khal Mohammad was tortured to death by Ahmad Rayis’ sons.
The victim was around 50 years old and was a tribal elder in the reigon.
The Taliban have not yet commented on these allegations.
Taliban fighters have previously been involved in extrajudicial punishments vigilante justices.
