Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council, has warned that the European Union may turn into a highly hostile military alliance against Russia, even worse than NATO.
Medvedev said on Friday, April 3, that some European politicians, particularly in Brussels, are considering the creation of a full military structure within the European Union.
He added that Russia has so far maintained a cautious stance toward other countries joining the European Union, but this situation is now changing.
According to Medvedev, the European Union is no longer merely an economic institution and could quickly turn into a full-fledged military alliance against Russia.
He also emphasized that Russia should abandon its tolerant approach toward neighboring countries joining the European Union.
