Local sources have reported the killing of a tribal elder in Shahristan district of Daikundi province.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, November 1, that Haji Ghulam Mohammad, a prominent tribal elder in the province, was shot dead in his room on Friday night.
According to the sources, the incident took place in Ghochan village in Shahristan district.
About a week earlier, a young man was also mysteriously killed inside his shop in the Kian area of Khadir district, Daikundi.
In recent days, reports of targeted killings, criminal activity and theft in various parts of the country have raised public concerns.
