Iranian media have reported that several explosions were heard in different parts of southern Iran, claiming that the blasts were caused by attacks carried out by US forces.
Fars News Agency reported on Wednesday night, July 8, that explosions were heard in Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Chabahar, and Konarak in southern Iran.
According to the report, the explosions occurred near midnight in various locations across southern Iran as well as in the country’s waters in the Persian Gulf.
The news agency later reported that 10 explosions occurred on Abu Musa Island, five explosions in Jask, and additional blasts were heard in Bandar Lengeh.
The reports come after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced earlier new strikes against Iran had begun under orders from US President Donald Trump.
