Polio Free Afghanistan

The Polio Free Afghanistan initiative has announced that a new round of polio vaccination campaigns will begin across the country on Monday.

In a newsletter on Friday, October 30, the initiative said the campaign in the southern zone would begin one day later, on Tuesday, November 3.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced that 12.7 million children in Afghanistan have so far been vaccinated against polio.

UNICEF added that efforts to completely eradicate the disease are continuing.
