BNA

At least five people have been killed and 20 others injured in a traffic accident in Northern Salang.

The Taliban’s traffic director in Baghlan said the accident occurred at around 2:00 a.m. on Friday, October 30, at the entrance to Northern Salang, when a 580-type vehicle collided with a tanker truck.

According to him, icy road conditions, excessive speed, and the driver’s loss of control contributed to the accident.

Traffic accidents in Afghanistan are often attributed to factors such as poor road conditions, speeding, driver negligence and failure to observe traffic regulations.

The lack of warning signs and icy conditions on mountainous roads also increase the risk of such accidents.
