The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) says funding shortages are threatening people’s access to essential healthcare services in Afghanistan.
On Monday, November 2, the agency said that only 44 percent of the $191 million required to provide healthcare services had been secured.
OCHA said several health facilities in Afghanistan had reduced their operations or closed due to a lack of funding.
The agency added that continued financial support is essential to ensure people can access the medical care they need.
