Pakistani media outlets reported the killing of two Afghan citizens alongside fighters of the Tariq Gidar group, an affiliate of the proscribed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in an operation by Pakistani military forces.

The Dawn newspaper reported on Saturday, May 30, that these Pakistani Taliban fighters were killed on Friday and Saturday in the “Darra Adamkhel” area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The report stated that the two Afghan citizens killed were named Qari Zeenatullah and Qari Lawangin.

It added that operations by Pakistani security forces are ongoing in the Darra Adam Khel region.

According to the report, since the Taliban regained power in Afghanistan in 2021, terrorist attacks in Pakistan have increased.

Islamabad accuses the Taliban of supporting the TTP, but the group has repeatedly denied these allegations.
