Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran is ready to allow United Nations nuclear inspectors to return to Iran and gain access for nuclear inspections.
Al Jazeera reported on Saturday, September 26, that when asked whether Tehran would allow inspectors access, Pezeshkian said, “That is absolutely correct.”
Pezeshkian said that if inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) request entry and inspections, Iran could reach an agreement during negotiations on how the inspections would be conducted.
The Iranian president said: “If they want to enter and inspect, we can reach an agreement and understanding on that specific issue during the negotiations.”
The remarks come as Pezeshkian has also supported a return to the Islamabad Memorandum, which was signed between the United States and Iran through Pakistan’s mediation.
