Powerful Afghan Women’s Movement Demands World Pressure Taliban for Girls’ Education
On Wednesday, the Powerful Afghan Women’s Movement launched a protest movement calling on the world community to exert pressure on the Taliban to open the doors of higher-grade schools to girls.
In their protest, these women chanted slogans such as “Taliban, Taliban, the enemy of girls’ education, the world’s silence is equal to supporting the Taliban, don’t politicize education, education is our right.”
They added that for 18 months now, girls have been in absolute uncertainty, and the Taliban should not further test the patience of the Afghan people until a “national uprising” takes place against them.
It should be noted that with the start of the new academic year, the Taliban have still not allowed girls above grade six to attend school.
