Sarah Adams, a former officer with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has claimed that the Taliban shut down internet access across Afghanistan to conceal the transfer of foreign fighters from Bagram to what she described as “terrorist camps.”
In a post on X on Monday night, September 29, Adams said the move came amid negotiations with the United States as part of the Taliban’s effort to gain Washington’s approval.
She urged the international community to use satellite imagery to document such movements and to pressure governments that downplay the activities of terrorist networks.
According to Adams, the Taliban are incapable of governing a country and remain solely focused on protecting terrorist groups.
She further stressed that U.S. financial assistance to the Taliban must be halted immediately.
Her remarks come as Afghanistan faces a nationwide internet blackout, heightening concerns over the Taliban’s intentions and the implications for citizens’ security and freedoms.
