Sources from Kapisa province say that all staff working in the nutrition sector (TSFP) at health centers in the province have been abruptly dismissed without prior notice.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, December 29, that the decision has caused serious economic hardship for the employees and widespread concern among residents.
According to the sources, the decision was made as a result of budget cuts by the World Food Programme (WFP).
The sources emphasized that nutrition services, particularly for malnourished children and for pregnant and breastfeeding women, are a vital necessity.
They warned that the suspension of these services in deprived areas could lead to dangerous health consequences and significantly limit people’s access to essential healthcare.
