Sources in Kandahar say that a man in the province has killed his 25-year-old son, who was unemployed.
The sources told The Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, August 23, that the incident occurred this morning in the 13th district, near Shahr-e Naw in Kandahar, on the road leading to the hospital.
According to the information, the man is a tire technician and killed his son, named Muslim, following a verbal argument.
Sources said that the victim had been looking for a job for a long time but had failed to find employment.
They added that the man killed his son by striking him with a piece of scrap metal.
Meanwhile, many residents of Kandahar believe that the main cause of such incidents is the Taliban’s rule, which has failed to create employment opportunities for the people.
However, since the Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan, unemployment has increased across the country on an unprecedented scale.
