Local sources say the Taliban abducted a young man from Panjshir province in Kabul and killed him after subjecting him to torture.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, January 19, that the 25-year-old, identified as Sayed Jalal, was abducted on Saturday from Lycee Maryam by the Taliban’s intelligence service.
According to the sources, the Taliban handed over Sayed Jalal’s body to his family on Sunday.
Sources added that Sayed Jalal was the younger brother of Mukhtar, who was also abducted and killed by the Taliban several months ago.
The sources said Sayed Jalal had been deported from Iran two years ago and, after returning, was working as a street vendor in Kabul.
This comes as the Taliban have repeatedly arrested, tortured, and in some cases killed residents of Panjshir province on accusations of membership in or cooperation with the National Resistance Front.
