Local sources in Ghazni have reported the start of construction of a standard hospital in the provincial capital, funded by local residents.
The sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Saturday, September 26, that the hospital is estimated to cost $1.5 million and will be funded by local residents and a charitable organization.
According to the sources, the hospital will be built in the Qala-e-Ahangaran area of Ghazni city, covering 800 square meters and consisting of six floors.
Some of the hospital’s donors said that the lack of adequate healthcare services in government hospitals and the difficulties faced by patients prompted them to build the facility according to modern standards.
Ghazni residents have previously completed dozens of public projects using their own funds.
