Local sources in Nimruz province report a suicide attacker detonated himself before reaching the Taliban governor’s office. The Hasht-e Subh Daily confirms the incident occurred at 12:58 PM on Sunday, January 14, within the compound of the Taliban governor’s office in Nimruz. Sources state the attacker detonated himself after Taliban fighters fired upon him.
Currently, conflict sounds emanate from the building of the Taliban governor’s office in Nimruz. Following the explosion, the Taliban closed all routes leading to their governor’s office.
Abdul Matin Qani, the spokesperson for the Taliban Ministry of Interior, stated on his official X account (formerly Twitter) that three members of the group were injured as a result of a suicide attack in the Nimruz provincial building.
It’s noteworthy that while no group has claimed responsibility for this event, Mohammad Dawood Muzammil, the Taliban governor in Balkh province, was previously killed in a suicide attack by the ISIS group in his office.
