The Taliban-controlled Afghanistan Electricity Company (DABS) has announced that Tajikistan’s electricity company has agreed to increase the amount of electricity it exports to Afghanistan.
DABS announced on Wednesday, September 30, that a delegation from the company met with the head of Tajikistan’s electricity company to discuss increasing electricity imports from the country.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed increasing the volume of imported electricity, expanding transmission lines, improving electricity quality and voltage, tariffs, and investment opportunities.
According to DABS, the Tajik delegation also presented a plan to construct a 500-kilovolt transmission line during the meeting.
The two sides agreed that technical and commercial teams would continue the discussions and work on the details to implement the agreements.
