Local sources in Herat claim that Taliban intelligence forces have detained a young woman with previous experience in journalism.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, May 13, that the woman is named Habiba Salehi and had recently returned to Afghanistan from Turkey to visit her family.
According to the sources, Taliban intelligence fighters arrested her on Wednesday morning in the “Number One” area of Herat city and transferred her to an unknown location.
Sources added that the Taliban have not provided any information to the woman’s relatives regarding her condition or whereabouts.
The Taliban had previously arrested three journalists in Kabul as well.
