Local sources report that Taliban intelligence forces have arrested a university professor in Panjshir and transferred him to an unknown location.
Sources speaking to Hasht-e Subh state that the Taliban detained the university professor, Jabir Jobran, on Wednesday, April 19, on charges of collaboration with the National Resistance Front (NRF).
Jobran, who is the head of the Faculty of Sharia Law at the State University of Panjshir, was reportedly not affiliated with any group, but the Taliban had threatened him on several occasions.
The Taliban have not commented on the matter, but they have previously detained and imprisoned several university professors in Afghanistan on various pretexts.
According to statistics received by the media, in the first few months of Taliban rule, around 200 university professors left the country due to the strict restrictions imposed by the Taliban.
