The Taliban’s Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development has announced that several development projects costing more than 12.6 million Afghanis have been completed and put into operation in Daikundi province.
The Taliban-controlled Bakhtar News Agency reported on Sunday, August 23, that the projects were implemented in Patu, Sang-e Takht and Bandar districts of Daikundi province.
According to the report, the completed projects include the construction of eight kilometers of roads, the cleaning of an irrigation canal, the construction of a 150-meter retaining wall and a culvert.
This comes as the Taliban have announced the implementation of various development projects over the past five years. However, some citizens say these projects have failed to address the people’s fundamental problems.
Meanwhile, local sources say that part of the Kabul-Kandahar highway, which was rebuilt by the Taliban several months ago, has been damaged again.
The sources add that the renewed damage to this section of the highway has raised concerns about the quality and durability of reconstruction projects carried out by the Taliban.
