Local sources in Panjshir province report that the Taliban executed two former military personnel accused of membership in the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF). The incident occurred last week, with the detentions taking place in the mountainous area of Abdullah-Khel village in Dara district, according to sources cited by the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, 6 July 2025.
The two former soldiers, identified as Hekmatullah and Ahmad Ali, were transferred by the Taliban to the “Malam-Khan” area in the Rokha district, where they were executed by firing squad. Sources noted that the Taliban had moved the individuals to the area under the pretext of searching for weapons. During their interrogation, the two men stated that they had gone to the mountains to search for their livestock.
Neither the Taliban nor the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has issued a statement regarding the executions. This incident follows a pattern of reported actions by the Taliban in Panjshir, where they have previously detained, tortured, and, in some cases, killed residents accused of affiliations with the NRF.
