Local sources say several students at Sheikh Zayed University in Khost have been expelled from the university’s dormitory for not having beards.
Sources told Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, June 24, that this process began last Wednesday and continued until last night, resulting in the expulsion of more than 50 students from the dormitory.
According to the sources, several students have faced serious difficulties in finding suitable housing and shelter after being expelled from the dormitory, and some of them have expressed concern over the current situation.
Some students said they had tried to find low-cost rooms across the city but had been unsuccessful and continued to live under difficult conditions.
According to them, these restrictions have posed serious challenges to students’ daily lives and academic progress.
This comes as sources from Herat and Kandahar had previously reported that in recent days, Taliban Morality Police from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice had detained many individuals for shaving or trimming their beards.
