Local sources in Takhar province have reported that Taliban fighters stole 10 million Afghanis and six thousand US dollars in cash from a money changer. According to local sources in the Dashti Qala district of Takhar province, on Saturday night, April 13, ten Taliban militants entered the residence of a money changer in the district. After assaulting him, they looted his cash.
Reliable local sources informed the Hasht-e Subh Daily that the money changer, identified as Rahimullah Qarluq, resides in the Dashti Qala district of Takhar province. Qarluq, the money changer, has been well-known in the district for nine years. It is reported that the majority of the stolen money belonged to deposits made by customers with this money changer.
Local Taliban officials in Takhar have yet to issue any statements on this matter. Similar incidents, including the murder of money changers, have previously been reported in various provinces, including Kabul.
