The Taliban announced that a delegation from Uzbekistan had visited several northern and northeastern provinces of Afghanistan and offered assistance with the reconstruction and restoration of historical buildings in these provinces.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Information and Culture said in a statement on Sunday, October 11, that the Uzbek delegation had traveled to Afghanistan under the leadership of Azizjon Arifjanov, deputy head of the country’s Agency for Cultural Heritage.

According to the statement, the Uzbek delegation had pledged to assist in the reconstruction and restoration of the historic Mashrab Baba shrine during its visit to Takhar province.

The delegation said the reconstruction plan for the Mashrab Baba complex in Ishkamish district of Takhar province includes facilities such as a sacrificial site, a public library, a mosque, a green space, a parking area, and other necessary amenities.

Local sources in Sar-e Pol province and Andkhoy district of Faryab province also said that the Uzbek delegation had visited historical buildings in these areas and pledged to cooperate in their reconstruction and restoration.
