Residents of the “Sherkat-ha-ye Dawlati” area, a government-built residential settlement in Imam Sahib district of Kunduz province, have complained about the seizure and destruction of their homes and shops by the Taliban and have called for the issue to be addressed immediately.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, that two individuals affiliated with the Taliban, identified as “Teacher Sayed Mohammad” and “Dr. Noorullah,” entered people’s homes in the absence of male family members.
According to the sources, the two individuals provided maps of residents’ homes and shops to local Taliban authorities to pave the way for the construction of a township in the area.
Residents have asked the Taliban to investigate the matter and to interrogate and monitor the two individuals involved.
This comes as the seizure of people’s land and homes by powerful individuals affiliated with the Taliban or by some local institutions of the group has created serious problems for residents in parts of the country.
The issue has also heightened public concern over the loss of their homes and land, and residents are calling on Taliban officials to address the problem seriously.
