Iranian Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi has told Ahmad Jan Bilal, head of the Taliban’s companies, that his country is prepared to supply up to 2,000 megawatts of electricity to Afghanistan.
According to a statement issued by the Taliban, Aliabadi said during the meeting on Saturday, September 19, that Iran is ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in the electricity sector and provide training for technical personnel in the country.
The meeting also discussed cooperation in electricity, the supply of safe drinking water, and the construction of wastewater treatment facilities.
During the meeting, Bilal also stressed the expansion of the Taliban’s relations with Iran in the energy sector, strengthening technical capacities, and implementing joint projects.
