Kabul – A number of teachers in Kabul have protested against the non-payment of their salaries in a resolution, calling on the Taliban to pay them before winter arrives.

On Wednesday, October 27, the teachers in Kabul issued a resolution saying that the critical financial catastrophe following the recent changes, rising basic needs prices, the arrival of winter and the non-timely payment of salaries to them, and to other government employees, have seriously added to their social problems.

In addition, they see the suicide of a teacher in the city of Kabul (Kart-e-Naw), and the death of a school “staff member” in Badakhshan as a sign of “human catastrophe” and “gradual death” and call on the Taliban to pay their salaries and those of other government employees as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, they called on the United Nations, in their resolution, not to forget the Afghan education system and to continue its humanitarian assistance in support of teachers in Afghanistan.

It is worth mentioning that after the takeover of the regime and the rise of the Taliban in Afghanistan, many lost their jobs and thousands of government employees, including teachers, were not paid.
