Local sources in Kandahar say the Taliban have in recent days begun searching the homes of several members of the former government’s security forces.

Sources confirmed to the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Monday, August 10, that the Taliban have told several former government forces in different districts of Kandahar city, including Aino Mina, that they are under close surveillance.

According to the sources, the Taliban have warned these individuals that they could be killed if arrested on charges of having links to opposition fronts.

The sources added that the Taliban have asked former government forces to provide information about people who contact them from abroad or ask them to cooperate.

Another source said Taliban forces entered the homes of several former government forces in Kandahar’s District 15 two days ago.

According to the source, Taliban forces searched the homes of these individuals.
