
Taliban’s Brutality Continues: Former Military Officer Shot Dead in Nuristan Province
Local sources in Nuristan Province report that the Taliban have shot and killed a former special forces officer of the previous government in the Wama district of this province. Sources told Hasht-e Subh that the body of Mohammad Jafar was found with gunshot wounds on Tuesday, May 2 at 8:00 am in the Wama district.
Sources say that Jafar had been unemployed since the Taliban took over. There were several attacks on this former military officer before this incident. The Taliban have not commented on the matter yet.
Detention, torture, and murder of former government soldiers by the Taliban are not new. This group has always targeted and mistreated these soldiers.
In the latest incident, the Taliban also arrested a female police officer of the previous government in her home in the center of Ghazni province on Thursday, April 27.
