U.S. President Donald Trump, while reiterating his claim that Iran is eager for a deal, said he has been in direct contact with Tehran.
Al Jazeera reported early Thursday, September 17, that Trump made the remarks while speaking to reporters.
According to the report, Trump again claimed that the United States is in the final stages of the war with Iran.
He also said that Iran is eager to reach an agreement with the United States.
In response to a question about whether he had recently received a call from Iran, Trump said he had spoken “directly” with the Iranian side.
Meanwhile, Iranian officials have repeatedly denied holding any direct talks with the United States.
