U.S. Southern Command has reported an attack on a vessel in the Caribbean Sea, saying that four people allegedly involved in drug trafficking were killed.
The command claimed in a post on X early Sunday, September 20, that the vessel was traveling along an established drug-trafficking route.
The U.S. military has previously attacked boats and vessels in the Caribbean and described the people aboard them as drug traffickers.
However, most U.S. military attacks on boats and vessels in the Caribbean occurred during last year’s naval blockade of Venezuela.
