The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that at least 1.4 million people across Lebanon have been directly affected by Israeli attacks and are now in urgent need of humanitarian assistance.
In a statement on Friday, June 5, the agency said its partners were able to provide humanitarian aid to more than 680,000 people between March 2 and May 31.
However, OCHA has called for an additional $331.5 million in funding to expand its assistance to 1.4 million vulnerable people in need by August.
Lebanon has been facing a major humanitarian crisis since the escalation of Israeli attacks, with international relief organizations repeatedly warning about rising displacement, destruction of infrastructure, and the urgent need for humanitarian aid.
