UN Deputy Secretary-General has said that the need to end the war in Ukraine has become more urgent than ever.
According to the United Nations, Rosemary DiCarlo said at a Security Council meeting on Tuesday, August 25, that the number of civilians killed in Ukraine in July was higher than in any other month since the beginning of 2022.
DiCarlo stressed that the continuation of the war is taking a heavy toll on Ukrainian civilians and that efforts to end the conflict must be increased.
This comes as concerns over the worsening humanitarian crisis and continued attacks in Ukraine have grown amid the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war and rising civilian casualties.
