The United Nations in Afghanistan has announced that no country can make progress when its girls are deprived of education, marginalized, and denied the opportunity to build their own future.
The organization wrote on its X page on Sunday, September 6, that schools in some provinces of Afghanistan have reopened after the summer break, but millions of Afghanistan’s girls remain deprived of education.
The United Nations added that for more than five years, the right of Afghanistan’s girls to education has been disregarded, leaving them without access to education.
The organization stressed that Afghanistan’s girls need classrooms, not barriers that block their access to education and their future.
