Following deadly floods in Nepal that killed more than 1,000 people, the United Nations and its partners have appealed for nearly $50 million to assist those affected.
The United Nations said on Friday, September 4, that the funds will be used to provide shelter for affected families and restore electricity networks in flood-hit areas.
The organization warned that humanitarian needs remain widespread and that immediate funding is needed to restore essential services.
The recent floods in Nepal caused extensive damage to infrastructure, leaving thousands of families without adequate shelter and essential services.
