The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) has said that its female staff in Afghanistan are working tirelessly to ensure mothers and families have access to healthcare and psychosocial support.
The organization said in a post on X on Tuesday, September 8, that its priority is the health, well-being, and future of every woman and girl who benefits from UN services.
UNFPA emphasized that its female staff in Afghanistan are working to provide these services to mothers and families.
Meanwhile, women, particularly pregnant women, face limited access to healthcare in many parts of Afghanistan.
The shortage of female doctors, especially in remote areas, remains one of the major challenges facing women.
Over the past five years, restrictions imposed on women and girls have also created greater challenges in accessing healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
