The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has announced that 372 civilians were killed and another 397 injured in Pakistani attacks on Afghanistan.
In a report released on Tuesday, May 12, UNAMA said the figures were recorded between January 1 and March 31 of the current year.
According to UNAMA, the civilians were killed during clashes between Pakistan and the Taliban in various provinces across Afghanistan.
The report states that Pakistani airstrikes carried out on March 16 targeted the “Omid Hospital” addiction treatment center in Kabul, leaving 269 people dead and 122 others injured.
UNAMA said all those killed were men, while one woman was reported among the injured.
According to the report, the attacks also struck a dormitory housing drug addicts, a mosque, and a food supply container.
UNAMA added that the total civilian casualties included 72 women, 554 men, 48 girls, and 95 boys.
The highest number of civilian casualties was recorded in the provinces of Kabul, Kunar, and Paktika.
The figures come as tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan remain unresolved, with clashes between the two sides continuing intermittently.
